If you are a fan of one of the competing FIFA World Cup 2018 teams, you can now show your enthusiastic support by painting your face with the flag of your favorite soccer team.
So how you do that? Well, Game Face AR was one of those apps, but the flag feature only worked on the iPhone X with its TrueDepth camera. The good news is that there is such an app that doesn’t require this camera, it’s called Ultimate Cup Lens. It doesn’t require an iPhone or iPad running iOS 10.0 or later, so if you have such supported device, it should work just fine.
You can put a virtual flag on your face of one of the participating team in the World Cup 2018. This includes teams from Russia (host), Brazil, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Belgium, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Germany, England, Spain, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Poland, Egypt, Iceland, Serbia, Portugal, France, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Switzerland, Croatia, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and Peru.
The positioning of the flag looks good, but it’s not perfectly fixed to the face when you start moving it. The iPhone X version in Game Face AR works better. There is also a nice confetti effect as well, to make the image capture of you more cheerful.
I am personally a fan of Argentina, I’m actually just watched Messi missed a penalty against Iceland as I am writing these land 🙂
The app has a bug though, at least running on my iPad 2017 device. When I tap to save a selfie photo of me with the flag on my face, the app crashes. It crashes every single time. I hope that it will work well on your mobile device, but it doesn’t work well on mine.
Anyways, you can download the app here. Have fun and enjoy watching the World Cup!
