You remember that AR app that solves Sudoku puzzles using your iPhone’s camera, now there is an app called Cube AR that can solve a Rubik’s Cube
However, this time you need to work a bit harder and actually follow the visual instructions. The app shows you how to rotate the cube and which row to move. The app detects the cube automatically while you hold the cube in front of the camera and rotate it so it can detect its colors.
If you want to impress your friends and show them a solved Rubik’s Cube, you can use this app to do so. However, you can’t really impress them live because they know you are cheating.
I wish there was an app that actually teaches you how to solve the cube yourself, rather reading a book or watching a video.
By the way, this brings an idea. Just imagine an app that uses Merge Cube and transforms it into a Rubik’s Cube, this could quite nice for those who don’t have a Rubik’s Cube at home. You can follow it auto-solving itself, easily reset it and even change its colors. Just an idea if it’s not already been done.
If you are interested, you can download this app from the App Store here. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPad mobile devices running iOS 8.0 or later. It’s not an ARKit app.
