Top 5 Best ARKit Games for October 2017

Since I bought my iPad, I had a chance to play almost all the ARKit games on the App Store. I’ve learned a lot about AR during this time. I reviewed quite a lot of games as well. In this post, I want to reveal my Top 5 Best ARKit games for October 2017. These are the best ARKit augmented reality game that I had a chance to play recently and They certainly worth your full attention.

Not every game in this list might fit your personal game style or age, but I’m sure that anyone of you will find at least one game that you’ll enjoy playing on your iPhone or iPad. The list is in no particular order. So without further ado let’s begin.

AMON (ARKit Puzzle Game)

AMON is my favorite games among the five and it’s probably the less visually impressive on, graphics wise. AMON combines art, captivating optical illusions, a challenging puzzle-solving experience, great spatial sound and an educational value on top of it. All that is wrapped up with super intuitive and brilliantly designed AR gameplay experience.

You really need to try this game out to feel what Augmented Reality is all about. The puzzle-solving experience is second to none. The game use of the player’s location as part of the gameplay mechanics is executed perfectly. When I first saw this game I thought it is passable and I only downloaded it at a later stage. Little I know what experience I am about to experience. Get this game!

ARise (ARKit Puzzle Game)

Although short, ARise is in no doubt, one of the most convincing and captivating ARKit games out there. Designed from the ground up for AR, it boasts beautiful graphics, satisfying puzzle solving experience and spot-on AR gameplay mechanics.

The game has one of the most interesting visuals that I’ve seen yet. The game captivates you with its complex structures and need to always change perspective to be able to locate hidden objects and solve its puzzles.. I was really fascinated when I first watch the game’s map floating there right in the middle of my living room I am still waiting for new updates to come, I really want to get back to play more of this game.

Splitter Critters (ARKit Puzzle Game)

Splitter Critters level view in two different angles

Yet another puzzle game which is probably the most innovative among all the AR games that I’ve played in terms of gameplay mechanics. The game comes with a regular mode and a separated AR mode.

As I summarized it in my review: The new AR mode brings with it one of the most innovative gameplay mechanics I’ve seen yet in an Augmented Reality game. A challenging and addictive puzzler that will keep you hooked through each level It sports some great music and sound effects, vibrant and sparkling visuals and a great separate 2D mode that is not less fun to play than it’s AR one. It’s really one of its kind, a wonderful game to play in AR.

I honestly think that the AR version is far way more fun and immersive than the regular mode. You can play both of them of course and in each mode you get to enjoy different puzzles.

My Very Hunger Caterpillar AR is an AR experience for kids. I played it with my friend’s daughter and we had a blast together. This is a super fun experience to play with your kids or your friend’s or neighbor kids when they come to visit.

Last but definitely not list is the game called “The Machines”. This is by far the most visually impressive Augmented Reality games that I had a chance to play until today.  This is in my opinion, a must-have AR game for those of you who love RTS games. Even if you are not, I do recommend checking it out, you might love playing in in augmented reallity. It’s not complex like those RTS games that you play on the PC, way more accessible.

As I summarized it in my review:  The Machines is an essential milestone for the AR game industry. It sports exquisite visuals with great attention to details. The gameplay is incredibly fun and the controls work fluently in augmented reality. The multiplayer matches are super fun and addictive. A superb AR PvP RTS game that drives players to continue to play more to improve their skills if they want to secure the top positioning in the global leaderboard. A must have ARKit game.
