Moving from 2017 to 2018

It’s 2018, Happy New Augmented Reality Year!

Today I woke up and watch the date on my laptop, it showed 1/1/2018. I started 2018 slowly without any rush, made myself a green tea and turned on my iPad to check out what’s new. I wanted to open up 2018 with a great new review, so I’ve searched for what looks like a great game and starting playing.

2017 was very exciting for me. I was able to try out so many AR apps and games and I’ve learned so much about AR in the time that I’ve spent with it. I’m sure 2018 is going to be way more exciting. I expect to see some high-quality ARKit title to come out this year. I’m sure many of those apps were still in development, as high-quality games and apps take time to develop. I’ve seen this on the PS4 as well, where the best titles came like two years after its release. I guess it could take about a year or two until we see some big AR titles coming out for ARKit. A few months already have passed, so I assume those triple-A titles will take some time to arrive.

I still think that we are going to see many great apps until then, but I doubt that they will be as big as Pokemon Go in term of investment and scope. It doesn’t mean that there won’t be plenty of other great AR games and apps, I’m sure there will. I’m already in contact with several devs that share with me some of their plans for the future, but I cannot reveal any information about which dev or what the plans are. All I can say is that there are some great titles coming out in 2018.

In the same breath, I want to thank all of you guys, both my website visitors and the developers who keep in touch with me and support my efforts.  I love Augmented Reality—I loved it from the first moment I’ve tried it. I do my best to promote the technology so more people are aware of it, as well as help promote the great apps that developers worked so hard to make.

My cat just noticed that it’s 2018 outside. #2018 #happynewyear #2018ready #newyear #cat #thankyou #augmentedreality #mixedreality

I worked a lot to bring you honest and in-depth reviews of the latest apps and games. I do focus on ARKit at the moment, but  I do hope to also bring ARCore content once I am able to purchase the required hardware, which I cannot right now. If you want o help you can do so by donating through my Patron page (see my Twitter’s pinned tweet for more information how you can help).

I’ve purchases some affordable accessories through eBay to help me create higher quality content for you guys and those will be reflected in future videos I make. I haven’t received them yet, but I do hope to get them in January 2018.

There are a lot of plans for 2018, but I am only one guy doing all this, so it takes a bit of time. I still put all my efforts into making sure you get the best content in a timely manner because I know you don’t want to wait and want to get fresh content on a daily basis.

You can support me but follow and subscribe to my social media channels (see sidebar or at the bottom of the page if you are browsing on a mobile phone). I made sure you get fresh content on any of those channels. By subscribing to those channels you can make sure you are notified when I publish new reviews, images, videos, etc.

I wish you all Happy New Year and I hope you have a fantastic and exciting year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
