Phone accessory for making better videos

Improvement for my AR Videos using a Phone holder accessory

A few weeks ago I’ve ordered some phone accessories to help me make the videos more interesting, useful and fun to watch. The first accessory I’ve purchased is a phone holder that allows me to record me using my iPad as I use AR apps.

I think it’s important for users to be able to see an off-screen actual gameplay simultaneously with the on-screen one. This will give users a better idea how an actual game or app is used than just seeing the augmented reality scene as seen on the screen itself. I think it’s not less important than recording standard on-screen scenes and therefore I’ve decided to buy this accessory.

This phone holder accessory will help me make better videos for you.

Here is an example of a screenshot.

I already started using it for both videos and screenshots for the previous two previous. Here you can see how it looks in this video with a picture-in-picture effect.

The same goes for screenshots. I think the screenshots would be more useful and help people that haven’t experienced AR yet, to show them what’s AR is all about. It’s also useful to help people see how you actually interact with the app.

In the video above, you can see that you can actually see how I the Merge Cube looks when I look at it directly compared to when viewing from the iPhone or iPad’s display.

I have some more ideas how to improve my videos, but this is a small and important step in my opinion. I think it will help teach more people about the “magic” of AR and encourage them to try it themselves.

I hope you like this addition. There is more to come once I get the other accessories.
