Actum Lab ARKit Review

Actum Lab ARKit is a very basic ARKit augmented reality app.  There is not too much to do here. You just let the app scan the environment and you can place various items like a desk, carpet, pouf, couch, TV stand, bookcase, and forklift onto those surfaces. You can resize and rotate the objects so they fit perfectly where you want them to. I think that this app was designed to demonstrate some of the company’s advanced AR-related technologies, but I am not sure. It is categorized under the Business category, so don’t expect to find any fancy entertaining interactivity here.

In the settings, you also have the option to enable ‘Pinch to Resize Objects’, which is does what it says. Enlargement can also be done using the magnifying glass icons on the right side on the screen. There is also a back button which resets the scene and let you start from the beginning.

It’s a very simplistic ARKit app that allows users to demonstrate for others what ARKit is all about or for those who just got an ARKit-compatible iPhone or iPad devices and want to try things out without needing to download big or complex apps and games.

There might be more things about this app that meets the eye. I’ve read on YouTube on one of Actum Lab videos that the company has presented a new Augmented Reality Solution for the furniture industry. and how precise it is without any markers.

Here is the video.

Actum Lab is a Polish based company. I’ve visited their website at actumlab.com and there you can find all of their AR solutions and services that they offer, including designing and creating mobile applications using Augmented Reality, 3D modeling, iOS and Android app development, WordPress design and have a department that carry our analysis and R&D Projects in the field of Extended Reality.

Anyways, because of this app I’ve just learned about this company and I’ll get to check out some of their other products. I’ve already found out about ARBus, an AR app that shows fresh bus timetables so you know exactly when your bus is coming. This app is available for Android and iOS for free, get it here.

If AR Critic finds out more about this game, we make sure to update this post with the new information accordingly.
